COACHING PHILOSOPHY
To create a fundamentally strong foundation, with love and respect for the game. It is my goal to develop and mentor players to be leaders and role models in the school and community; emphasizing family atmosphere, integrity, team-first attitude, being a great teammate, strong work ethic, and the ability to communicate at a high level. It is always my goal to create a balanced season which includes the ability to create a fun and positive experience, while doing what needs to be done to achieve our goals. I believe in creating a positive culture in which traditions are built, academics are held to high standards, sportsmanship and respect are shown, and pride in our school and community is created.
COACHING OBJECTIVES
Off-Season - Players will be educated on their bodies, eating habits, strength programs, arm care programs, and velocity programs. Players will be held accountable, facilities and opportunities will be made available, and guest speakers and trainers brought in. All players will have an initial test to establish baseline data. PARENTS will be educated on the importance of development.
During Season - Continued work on strength, continuous arm care program, mental strength, fundamentals, continued growth on "measurables" (velocity from all positions, speed, bat speed, etc.), challenge players to be students o the game, communication with strength coaches at Legend and constant monitoring. Players cannot maintain during the regular baseball season. It is essential that they build strength.
